[1] [2] After returning to rugby union, Ackerman was part of the Dragons Academy, and captained the U18 team as they won the Regional Age Grade tournament in 2022. [3] While part of the academy, Ackerman played for both Cross Keys RFC and Newport RFC. [4] On his Cross Keys debut, Ackerman scored two tries, and was named as Man of the Match. [5]
Additionally, it has a local rugby union team, Cross Keys RFC, and consequently many different age-banded teams such as youth and mini rugby. Crosskeys is close to the Cwmcarn Forest Drive which has extensive mountain-biking trails. There is a large local park toward the lower part of the village.

Jason Alistaire Forster (born 25 February 1971, in Derby) [1] is a former international Wales rugby union player. A flanker, he played his club rugby for Pontypridd RFC, Newport RFC and Newport Gwent Dragons. He moved on to be player – coach at Doncaster R.F.C. before returning to Wales to coach at Neath RFC.
