The Texas Medical Board (TMB [1]) is the state agency mandated to regulate the practice of medicine by Doctors of Medicine (MDs) and Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs) in Texas. The Board consists of 12 physician members and seven public members appointed for a six-year term by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate.
Sidney Manuel Wolfe (June 12, 1937 – January 1, 2024) was an American physician and the co-founder and director of Public Citizen's Health Research Group, a consumer and health advocacy lobbying organization. [1] He publicly crusaded against many pharmaceutical drugs, which he believed to be a danger to public health.
After WWII ended, he matriculated at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where he graduated in 1949 with an M.D. [3] In 1947 he married Mary Louise Saunders, a fellow medical student. [2] [3] From 1949 to 1950 he was a medical intern in internal medicine at the US Public Health Service in Galveston. [2]
