Veigar is much weaker in 2v2 than in 5v5 2. Kite away, Veigar is much weaker chasing people, than fight while retreating, due to his W and E delay, his effective range is shorter when he is chasing people Communicate to your team to fight and retreat, cutting Veigar's effectiveness
So incredibly based. Some ARAM comps are literally unplayable and I just got one. A team of ADCs vs multiple dive tanks, a renata, and Veigar. His cage legit covers nearly a third of the screen and it's just not a balanced ability for ARAM. Frankly most wide area AP characters aren't imo.
Veigar has been in a good spot for a while in ARAM (5th winrate at the moment) and that's only because his E is really not interactive for the enemy team, not that many champions can do anything else around it other than "stay far away from him if his E is not on CD or you're dead".
Veigar can throw the cage around every few seconds and you’re basically trapped for 3 seconds or get stunned at which point the enemy will probably gang bang you. And veigar scales too fast in ARAM and starts one shotting everyone with a simply flash Q ult or other combos
Again though, i'm confident tank Veigar is significantly stronger than AP-warmogs Veigar. Veigar with warmogs can't oneshot anyway so there's much less of a point building AP since he gets it from his passive anyway. Wheras building tank actually makes him an extremely potent frontliner. Though I don't run grasp, I run glacial augment.
The issue is that Veigar denies both of these ideals in aram by simply always being grouped. This is why I explicitly mentioned “shit drafts” as part of the reasons why he even ever loses, because anyone with even soft CC makes diving him beyond a chore, and makes even guaranteeing a 1for1 far from reliable.

the chances of getting Veigar in ARAM are 1:143 I don't think it's healthy to delve into mode-specific champion balance for ARAMs, it'd take away from what originally made(and still makes) this mode fun - the randomness.
Veigar stacks the same as on the Rift, it's just that it's ARAM, where your spells will be hitting enemies left right and center from minute 1 because of the constant teamfighting. Today I had a Veigar on my team reach 1400+ AP. Nasus, on the other hand, has a champion-specific buff for ARAM that makes his Q stack twice as fast.
I agree that Veigar's cage ability is too strong in ARAM. I disagree with this change. It does not address the real issue. I also believe this change will not have any meaningful effect for anyone using the cage ability semi-well. The real issue is that the cage covers a large width of the bridge.
