The Mauser 2000 and 3000 were originally designed by Heym, and were originally released as the Heym SR10 and SR20 rifles. Mauser-Werke leased the idea, with space to manufacture, from Heym - thus the Mauser Original roll mark. The serial numbers started with 67110 in 1968 and ended with 95204 in 1974.
The 338 Winchester is the perfect cartridge for a Mauser action. All for all it's about the most efficient 338 caliber. A 1:10 twist is ideal for bullet weights up to 250gr. My Ruger M77 shoots 200, 225 and 250gr bullets very good with 1:10 twist. I've been working with the 285gr A-Max and they don't group nearly as well as 250 and lighter bullets.
1891 Argentine Mauser rebarreling. I have been a custom stock maker and gunsmith for over 50 years and have used the 1891 Argentine Mauser action to create several custom sporting rifles. Understand I have never stripped a complete rifle but used only the action from damaged rifles. The rule on determining what caliber / cartridge to use is ...

There was a Chinese investment cast action with top dovetails and some Mauser features back in the late '70s marketed by FIE, I think.
A Mauser action is relatively easy to bed. Just follow the bedding instructions, go slow and try not to get the epoxy in any holes or action parts you don't want filled. My favorite method is to bed the recoil lug and the first couple of inches of barrel as per Bob's advice - this helps solidify the chamber area of the barrel.
Mauser action help. I hope to get some help from you guys here, regarding converting mauser to long range rifle. I have several match rifles for 200 meter matches I rarely use anymore and wanted to make use of. I have a danish match conversion rifle m69 6.5x55 with a nice Schultz&Larsen barrel on it, with a dwm 1908 action and 28” barrels.
Mauser heat treating. Well in order to take a Mauser 98 action off the original barrel my father used am oxyacetylene torch to heat the barrel and receiver up to red hot. I understand this takes the case hardening off. I don't necessarily want to heat treat the action in the sense of hardening it, so what I need is to soften the entire action ...

Model 52. The Zastava M70 version of the Mauser 98 action has been around since 1970 and has been sold under various brand names. The Interarms Mk X is one of the better known iterations and was sold in both complete rifle and barreled action form by Interarms from 1970 until they closed up shop in 1998.
