History. Hellrung & Grimm was a St. Louis based furniture store run by the Hellrung and Grimm families. [1] The company sponsored several athletic teams including soccer teams. In 1929, a team, known as Hellrungs, sponsored by the company, entered the city's first division league, the St. Louis Soccer League, playing under that name until 1931.
Sugarloaf Mound is the only one that remains, of the original approximately 40 mounds in St. Louis. The mounds were constructed by Native Americans that lived in the St. Louis area from about 600-1300 A.D, the same civilization that built the mounds at Cahokia. Sugarloaf Mound is on the National Register of Historic Places.
