Recently I had a school with an M32 that was getting no output. Input signals were verified on the channel strip level meters, and we could even see signal on the L/R bus on the main display. We verified DCAs, mute groups, BUS 15 and 16 setup, etc. The weird thing is that the Main channel strip was dark, and changing the scribble strip did ...
Apr 30, 2021. #4. The X32/M32 XLR outputs are capable of about +/-12V of total swing at 0DBFS. My guess is the client was running up to "0" and found it very, very loud. “Plant trees under whose shade you do not expect to sit.”. - Unknown to me author. After much hair pulling and Googling, here's what I've found to work for playing back tracks from a USB stick on an X32 board. Most of what was tripping me up was getting the file type and settings correct. Check your X32 board. Most are defaulted to running at 48kHz, although you can set...
Take a look at the program"X32 Theatre Control". It will run on the Mac and interfaces with X32 and M32 through Open Sound Control (OSC). It accepts commands from the M32 and forwards them to Qlab. There is also a version for Windows and Cue Player. Dave Baxter. Author- Cue Player theater software for sound and lighting.
Hopefully someone in the brain trust can help me. Just got a new Midas M32 and I'm not able to get the post fader routing to work on the outs. I can get everything to work fine with pre-fader but when I change the routing to post fader I get nothing. I assume it's a simple fix that I'm just overlooking.
I've seen an M32R + DL32 bundle offerd for $4K total. As far as scene control goes, I roll my own snippets and use QLAb via MIDI to recall M32 snippets. I'm only changing DCA assignments, DCA scribble strips labels and DCA scribble strip colors, though. I know that Palladium can control 2 M32s at once.
*FOOTNOTE - The M32 and many other digital mixers use a metering scale called "DBFS" for dB, Full Scale. The traditional Vu meters had a -0- and the had a "+" scale; DBFS ain't that way. DBFS is a measure of how far below Full Tilt Boogie (i.e., you're at full output level, often the equivalent of +20dBVu or more).
Hello, We currently use a Midas M32 in our local theatre, but have been running out of channels. It looks like we will get approval to purchase a new console with higher channel count, so I am curious about opinions on which to buy. We have been completely happy with the M32. Should we be...
The M32 is basically the same console with a fancier chassis, improved motorized faders, and slightly better mic preamps. They are both brilliant designs. They are both brilliant designs. Analog consoles still have some advantages, but I'd think twice about ever buying a used one.
