JEE-Main, unlike JEE-Advanced, has a fixed exam structure and is not subject to change every year. Up until 2018, the JEE-Main Paper-I was three hours long and consisted of thirty questions in each of the three subjects (physics, chemistry and maths). 4 marks are awarded for correct answers and 1 mark is deducted for incorrect answers.
The NTA has been criticised for irregularities in the difficulty level of question papers of JEE(Main), which leads to the normalisation of marks and ultimately, lower scores of candidates. [ 31 ] JEE(Main) 2024 Session 1 (January)
The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at the examination is limited to three in consecutive years. However, with 2022 JEE-Main being postponed from April/May to 20–29 June/21–30 July, JEE-Advanced 2022 was also postponed and subsequently held on 28 August 2022. On 5 November 2024, it was announced by IIT Kanpur , and Joint Admission Board(JAB) that the attempts of JEE-Advanced are now increased from 2 to 3. [ 72 ]
In Sri Lanka, A-Level is offered by governmental and non-governmental schools. The qualifications are awarded upon successful completion of examinations called Local A-Levels while most of the private schools award them upon London A-Levels. Local GCE Advanced Level qualification is offered by the Department of Examinations.
As more and more applicants are attaining higher and higher grades in the A level examinations, most universities also use secondary admissions criteria. These may include results at GCSE or Standard grade examinations (or equivalent), the references provided on the application and the information provided on the personal statement.
On 18 June 2012, a more specific format was proposed by a joint meeting of the councils of IITs, NITs, and IIITs. As per this proposal, the exam would be called the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and would be made up of two parts, JEE-Main [9] and JEE-Advanced. Two distinct "patterns of admission" would be used.
The results can be obtained in person or online. Due to the influx of students, the site may slow down or crash all together. The Class 10th and 12th of batch 2023-24 result was declared on 13 May 2024 for 2024 CBSE board Exam. For Academic Year 2024-25 it would be planned to be Released between 10 May till 20 May based on the Release History.
