But if its not the cable (Since if it is a DP 1.2 cable 1440P 165hz should be fine and 1.2 has been around since 2010 so it probably is a 1.2) Then i Guess it it might be a setting. So check in the Monitors ODS (menu) Since you have already checked the Windows/Nvidia settings.
Hello, So I got my new PC. I have a problem with the monitor. it is VG27A Asus. It should be ok to play at 165Hz but I can only get it at 144Hz from settings and inside all games. Windows10, Nvidia Geforce 3070, and AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor. 1 Share.
Uninstall your nvidia gforce experience. Uninstall your GPU drivers from device manager. Uninstall your Nvidia control pannel. Restart your device. go to display and put the monitors reaolution and advanced display settings and put your refresh rate probably will be solved) then only install nvidia drivers and nvidia softwares.
Usually it has to do with the monitor having HDMI and DisplayPort but one is rated for 144hz max and the other can do the 165hz. For example, you are using HDMI but that is only rated for 144hz on your monitor and to get the 165hz you’ll have to use the DisplayPort. That’s how it is on a lot of monitors. I’d be willing to guess that is ...
my specs - (170hz monitor, display port, nvidia rtx 4090, gigabyte m27q) my problem - ( only had 60 hz from display port & 144hz from hdmi) this worked for me -. Uninstall your nvidia gforce experience. Uninstall your GPU drivers from device manager. Uninstall your Nvidia control pannel. Restart your device.
Try checking your monitors OSD. Many 165 Hz monitors can only run at 165 Hz in some sort of stupid marketing overclocking mode. Maybe that's one of those, although I don't really know. I'd just ignore that because 144-vs-165 isn't going to be noticeable anyway. You listed your whole damn pc, but not which monitor you use:)
Recently built a PC and connected my existing Asus VG248QE monitor to it with a Dual Link DVI cable. The monitor is explicitly 144hz capable, but for whatever reason there's no way to push it past 60hz, and I can't find any option for it. I tried the refresh rate boxes wherever they are, and I followed the Advanced Display Settings > Display ...
This is actually a 144hz or a 165hz monitor that supports up to 180hz via overclocking in the Nvidia control panel. If he opens that he can set the custom refresh rate to 180. I had to do this for a similar 4K monitor when I wasn’t getting the advertised 165hz even with display port. (Was only offering me 144hz within the settings)
Asus TUF Gaming F15 screen flickering on 144Hz. Support - SOLVED! My laptop's screen has been showing multiple horizontal flickering lines over the top margin of the screen after some minutes of use when the refresh rate is set to 144Hz. This started first happening 4 days ago while I was just browsing on the internet, the flickering was subtle ...
Stuck at 144hz with a 240hz monitor. I got a asus VG259QM about 6 months ago. I was using 240hz but I checked and found out I’m actually running at 144hz. I don’t know why this is the problem. I have checked nvidia control panel and the windows settings options and I don’t actually have the option to up it to 240hz.
