The Sioux Falls Stampede are a Tier I junior ice hockey team based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The Stampede are members of the Western Conference of the United States Hockey League (USHL). The team plays home games at the Denny Sanford Premier Center, the largest facility in capacity and size in the USHL. The team was established in 1999.

The 1996 Cobras consisted of former Buffalo Stampede players who joined the team after their franchise folded following the 1995 Roller Hockey International season. [ 2 ] Relocated from Glen Falls, New York and renamed as the Buffalo Wings, the team played the 1997 season at the Marine Midland Arena . [ 1 ]
Prior to the 2011–12 season the team was the Tulsa Rampage, a USA Hockey-sanctioned Tier III Junior A ice hockey team, based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The team played in the Midwest Division of the WSHL at the Oilers Ice Center. In 2011, Julie Wilson, the owner at the time, sold the Rampage to Mark Lantz of Cheyenne, Wyoming. [1]
The Central Texas Stampede were one of the "original six" teams of the now defunct Western Professional Hockey League. On October 15, 1996 the Stampede defeated the Waco Wizards 5-4 in the first ever WPHL contest. [1] The Stampede had four head coaches during its five year run in the WPHL.

The Great Lakes Hockey League (GLHL) is an elite amateur full contact ice hockey league that is affiliated with USA Hockey. Players must be at least 18 years of age and many have previous NCAA College, Junior A, or Professional hockey experience. There are currently 10 teams in the league.
