Lake Crescent is known for brilliant blue waters and exceptional clarity caused by low levels of nitrogen in the water [1] that inhibit the growth of algae. The lake is located in a popular recreational area and features several trails, including the Spruce Railroad Trail , Pyramid Mountain trail, and the Barnes Creek trail to Marymere Falls .
In 1914 Avery and Julia Singer built a small hotel and cottages at Barnes Point on the shore of Lake Crescent, opening Singer's Tavern in 1915. [2] At the time of its opening, the Tavern consisted of seven Lodge rooms, five of which are still in use today, and a series of cottages, spending nearly $50,000 on the construction and furnishing of the hotel.

The community is located at the west end of Lake Crescent in the Olympic National Park. Fairholm also features a general store, cafe, and other park-related buildings. Fairholm was settled just prior to 1891 by W.V. Wilson and was named by Caroline Jones. [2]
The Alderbrook Inn was purchased by North Forty Lodging in 2001. The 18-hole golf course was sold to the Alderbrook Golf and Yacht Club, the 450-member homeowners association for residences surrounding the course. [33] In 2002, North Forty Lodging announced plans to transform the resort into a 4-star hotel, spa, and conference center. [34]

Crescent Bar is a resort area and census-designated place (CDP) in Grant County, Washington, United States. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 325. [3] The CDP is on the western edge of the county, on the east side of the Columbia River. A portion of the community occupies an island (Crescent Bar) in the river.
