Mayfly is a short film. It was written and directed by Michael Bodie, and deals with the difficult subject matter of assisted suicide and dying. Bodie graduated as a writer / director, from UC Davis with a bachelor's degree in dramatic arts.
Bodie is initially a rough, low-level drug dealer, but matures throughout the series and slowly rises through the ranks. Bodie is an intelligent and disciplined lieutenant, showing strong loyalty to the Barksdale Organization even after most of its members are imprisoned or killed.
The pair were also responsible for intimidating Bodie Broadus into accepting Marlo's drug supply and for recruiting middle schooler Michael Lee into their organization. They also train the next generation of soldiers for Stanfield's organization, including O-Dog .

Monk reports sighting Bodie to Marlo and a newly released Chris. Marlo instructs Chris to have Michael kill Bodie on the chance of him being an informant. Chris tells Marlo that Michael worked for Bodie so the task should go to someone else, as Michael's first kill should be a stranger.
Bodie was a dealer who came of age working for Avon Barksdale. After the Barksdale organization dissolves, he is briefly independent (supplied by the New Day Co-Op) until Marlo forces him to join his crew. He is shot and killed by O-Dog, after Monk sees Bodie having a conversation with McNulty, because Marlo suspects he may be a snitch.
Dukie drops out of high school and starts working for Marlo. McNulty convinces Bodie to inform on Marlo after Kevin's body is found, but Monk spots them and Bodie is killed in a shootout with the Stanfields. Marlo gives Michael Bodie's territory and he kills a rival dealer. McNulty has Daniels add him back to major crimes.
