The Hylebos Bridge (located off East 11th St. in the Tacoma Tideflats) is currently closed to vehicular traffic due to a technical malfunction. The bridge remains open to shipping vessels.
The Hylebos, one of Tacoma’s two movable bridges, was rehabilitated in 2012 and built in 1939, according to the city. It also faced repairs in early 2024 after a vessel hit it last fall.
