Low temperatures tonight will likely be a degree or two warmer than Thursday night, dropping into the upper 60s for most locations in Houston, with slightly cooler weather outside the city. Saturday and Sunday
Sunny weather continues, with daytime highs in the low 90s and nighttime lows around 70 degrees. The humidity will recover some, but not get back to really sticky dewpoints. So again, mornings and evenings will be fairly pleasant outside.

Hurricane Beryl this week. Thanks to warm seas, the system has intensified during the last 24 hours from a 50-mph tropical storm into a powerful 130-mph hurricane as it nears the Windward Islands. It should then cross these islands on Monday and move into the Caribbean Sea.
As of 8:00pm CT tonight, a well-organized Hurricane Harvey is moving northwest, toward the Texas coast. It packed 85-mph winds, but forecasters at the National Hurricane Center still expect it to come ashore late Friday night, or Saturday morning as a major hurricane. The most likely landfall location is between Corpus Christi and Port O’Connor.
It looks like our heat will peak this weekend, and into next week, when much of the city will likely hit triple digit temperatures. We’ll continue to see sunny to mostly sunny skies, with isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms.

Beryl’s track and intensity. As expected, Beryl is spending most of today fending off dry air to its south, and wind shear to its southwest. The storm is starting to develop better organized thunderstorms, however, and it should slowly begin to intensify tonight.
