A Molex connector is a two-piece pin-and-socket interconnection which became an early electronic standard. Developed by Molex Connector Company in the late 1950s, the design features cylindrical spring-metal pins that fit into cylindrical spring-metal sockets, both held in a rectangular matrix in a nylon shell.
IEC 60309 (formerly IEC 309 and CEE 17, also published by CENELEC as EN 60309) is a series of international standards from the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) for "plugs, socket-outlets and couplers for industrial purposes".
1×6 pin header (one row) 1×6 female header (one row) A pin header (or simply, header) is a form of electrical connector.A male pin header consists of one or more rows of metal pins molded into a plastic base, often 2.54 mm (0.1 in) apart, though available in many spacings. [1]
The typical TO-8 metal can package has a base diameter of 15.24 mm (0.600 in), a cap diameter of 12.29 mm (0.484 in), and a cap height of 7.62 mm (0.300 in). [1] The lead diameter is nominally 0.76 mm (0.030 in). The leads are arranged on a circle with a diameter of 7.16 mm (0.282 in). The minimum length of the leads is 10.16 mm (0.400 in).
With this arrangement, socket contacts have good protection from unexpected damage during handling, and socket contacts with this arrangement are therefore not subject to inadvertent bending. In contrast, the mating ends of pin contacts protrude above the surface of the insert, and mishandling can bend one or more of these pins.
Plug and socket connectors are usually made up of a male plug (typically pin contacts) and a female socket (typically receptacle contacts). Often, but not always, sockets are permanently fixed to a device as in a chassis connector (see above) , and plugs are attached to a cable.
