On May 5, 1966, the road was extended west 5.8 miles (9.3 km) to RM 1800 (now SH 137). FM 2874 was cancelled on September 20, 1973, and transferred to RM 2401.

Farm to Market Road 2404 (FM 2404) is located in Taylor and Jones counties. It runs from US 83 north of Abilene to FM 605. [14] [15] FM 2404 was designated on October 2, 1959, from US 83 northwest to the Jones County line as a replacement for FM 1605. [16] On November 24, 1959, the route was extended northwest to FM 605. SH 50 was designated on May 1, 1965, traveling from I-30 to SH 24, replacing part of Spur 178, FM 513, and FM 499, and all of FM 819 from FM 499 to FM 513, which was cancelled. On December 17, 1970, SH 50 was extended north to Honey Grove concurrent with part of SH 34 and over part of SH 11. On April 27, 2000, SH 50 was rerouted in Commerce.
State Highway 224 (SH 224) is a Texas state highway running from Greenville northeast to Commerce. The route was designated in 1979 as a renumbering of a portion of its parent SH 24 when it was rerouted southward from Commerce along SH 50.
