People notice and remember exceptional cases, use their own (usually overestimated) height for comparison etc. So any anecdotal evidence unless it's something really convincing (like i'd accept anecdotal evidence about pygmys if none other was avialable, but other data is availabel), shouldn't be put in the main article.
