The Newlywed Game is an American television game show. Newly married couples compete against each other in a series of revealing question rounds to determine how well the spouses know or do not know each other.
Hosted by Jim Lange, it was a test week of shows to see if a daytime version of Newlywed Game might be feasible for ABC. The series did re-emerge eighteen months later in syndication with Bob Eubanks hosting again; he couldn't host the February 1984 week of shows because he was hosting Dream House on NBC at the time.

A lesser known announcer was Bob Hilton, who was announcer from 1985-1987, announcing The New Newlywed Game and The All New Dating Game. Perhaps the best-known employee was The New Newlywed Game host Bob Eubanks, who served from 1966–1974, 1977–1980, and 1985–1988, when he stepped down and was replaced by Paul Rodriguez.
In 1966, Eubanks received a phone call from Chuck Barris, asking him to host a new game show, The Newlywed Game; the show premiered on ABC later that same year. During its debut, it was an immediate hit, and the show's popularity led the network to expand the prime-time lineup, where it had run on the air for five years.
In 1972, The Dating Game added a Dixieland-style closing theme called "Little Rosie" to its ABC daytime version; the tune was used also on the first two syndicated versions, through 1980.
