September 15, 2021, 10:09:17 PM. First bake: Preheated to 800 degrees, about 30 minutes. Cook time was about 90 seconds. Overall pretty happy but top was a bit more done than the bottom. May need to preheat longer or perhaps turn the flame down before launching.
Solo Pi Prime vs Gozney Dome. August 21, 2023, 06:41:12 PM. Ok. So, obviously the Gozney Dome is superior. Mostly due to its size and heft (which I would think offers consistent, even temps). BUT, the Solo Pi Prime is $349, while the Dome is $2,000.

From the gozney dome fb groups people seem to have no problems running at a lower temp even with the large opening Karu 16 on the other hand with gas is 17.5" opening and 16.7" stone. Because of how the gas burner sits in the back and floats above the stone, a 17" pizza is possible Even though karu 16 is a smaller oven it is not a lot smaller ...
With gas, the oven got to 700 degrees in just 18 minutes. Took awhile longer for the stone to get hot enough though. 3. Some people were asking in this thread whether this oven could do 16 inch pizzas. I would say "technically yes, but you probably don't want to".
I'd imagine an $1800 Dome could fetch high 2k's on Ebay if you had one to sell. At least with a pre-order you put in your CC and feel like you could get the product soon, this is just Gozney collecting email addresses. Which oddly enough is a marketing strategy, so you were spot on lol. They have never been in stock.

NY Style in Gozney dome? January 31, 2023, 02:19:38 PM. Current recipe: 340 g water 100 g active sourdough starter 10 g salt 7 g olive oil 30 g semolina flour 470 g King Arthur bread flour. The goal is crispy NY style pizza in the Gozney dome which has a top gas flame. I've been baking around 550 stone temp, 630 air temp.
I really like how it looks. but $1,499 for gas + $370 for a wheeled stand, a $50 Neo pizza shield thingy and $60 for a door (for bread making) = a lot more than I'd want to spend. And, I'd no doubt want the pellet hopper, cold smoker, steam injector and probably other accessories lol.
