The Midnight Star is a fantasy novel by American author Marie Lu and the third and final book in The Young Elites trilogy. It was released on October 11, 2016. [2] The book follows the titular character, Adelina Amouteru, after her takeover of the kingdom that once hated her.
Adelina Amouteru Adelina, also known as the White Wolf, is the 16 year old main character of the story. A malfetto herself, her once brown hair has turned silver, and she's missing her left eye. After the death of her mother during the blood fever, she grows up with her cruel and abusive father, leaving a vengeful darkness in her heart.
Amouteru strives to form a new 'society' composing of only the strongest malfettos, which includes Magiano and a discarded Dagger. She calls it The Rose Society. After gathering the Rose Society, Adelina manages to take control of Kenettra as the nation's new queen, with Teren imprisoned and the previous queen dead.
Dumitru and four nuns are arrested for murder when the three-day ordeal culminates in the death of Adelina. New York journalist Nicole Rawlins convinces her editor to let her investigate the case. He cautions Nicole to not allow her personal views on faith or the death of her mother to affect her objectivity.
