Mountain Fair is a summer arts and music fair held annually in Sopris Park in Carbondale, Colorado.It has been held annually during the last weekend of July since 1972. [1] [2] [3] Each year between 15,000 and 20,000 people attend the event over the course of the three days that it is held.
The renaissance festival was begun in 1975 as a tear-down event in Morrison, Colorado, with 60 artisan booths. After two years, the grounds moved to Castle Rock before settling in its current location of Larkspur. It was founded by a man named Jim Paradise. His son, Jim Paradise Jr. is the current director of the fair. [2]
Annual events including summer running races, recreational bike rides and Pro Cycling Challenge Prologue also take place in this park.
