The Franklin Center is a 60-story supertall skyscraper in the Loop neighborhood of downtown Chicago.Completed in 1989 as the AT&T Corporate Center to consolidate the central region headquarters of the American Telephone & Telegraph Company (AT&T), [2] it stands at a height of 1,007 ft (307 m) and contains 1.7 million sq ft (160,000 m 2) of floor space. The Crain Communications Building is a 39-story, 582 foot (177 m) skyscraper located at 150 North Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago, Illinois. [1] It was also known as the Smurfit–Stone Building and the Stone Container Building.
The building was designated a Chicago Landmark in 2000, [4] and it was added to the federal National Register of Historic Places in 2003. In 2001, the building was sold to developer Draper and Kramer who, with Booth Hansen Architects, converted it to residential use, with the first two floors dedicated to upscale office and retail space.
