The 1989 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships were the 59th NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships to be held. Both University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma hosted the tournament. The tournament was held at the Myriad Convention Center in downtown Oklahoma City.
The 2025 championship is scheduled for March 20-22, 2025 in Philadelphia. Starting in 2025–26, all currently existing NCAA men's wrestling championships will add the word "Men's" to their official titles, following the elevation of women's wrestling from the Emerging Sports for Women program to full championship status.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys wrestling team is the most successful NCAA Division I athletic program of all time in any sport. As of 2023-24, Oklahoma State wrestling has won 34 team national championships, 143 individual NCAA championships, and 488 All-American honors.
