Miss Jane Marple is a fictional character in Agatha Christie's crime novels and short stories. Miss Marple lives in the village of St Mary Mead and acts as an amateur consulting detective. He tells Miss Marple how distant Michael's father seemed, despite wanting justice, and mentions a missing young local woman, Nora Broad, who he fears will also be found murdered. Wanstead takes Miss Marple to see Miss Temple, who had asked for her. Miss Temple wakes long enough to tell Miss Marple to "search for Verity Hunt", and dies that night.
