The Cold Spring Historic District is a historic district that includes much of the central area of the Hudson River Cold Spring village in Putnam County, New York.It is roughly bounded by Main Street (in the northeastern portion of the village the eastern end of NY 301), Cedar and Fair streets and Paulding Avenue.
There were 1,753 households, out of which 38.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 71.8% were married couples living together, 7.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 19.2% were non-families. 14.9% of all households were made up of individuals, and 5.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
Cold Spring is a village in the town of Philipstown in Putnam County, New York, United States. The population was 1,986 at the 2020 census. [ 2 ] It borders the smaller village of Nelsonville and the hamlets of Garrison and North Highlands .
It is now home to the Cold Spring Harbor Barbershop. Several years later, the library's collection of books were moved to what is now 117 Main Street. In 1899, the Cold Spring Harbor Village Improvement Society was formed and in May 1899, adopted the Library as one of its activities.
The current Cold Spring station is located slightly south of the old one, still standing at the foot of Cold Spring's Main Street. Walkways on both sides of the tracks connect the old and new station, and the pedestrian tunnel built by New York Central Railroad is still in use by both commuters and local residents.
