IU Health announced the closure of the People Mover in December 2018, to be replaced by shuttle buses. The People Mover was due for major maintenance, estimated to cost $20 million. The switch to buses is estimated to save $1.5 million per year in operating costs. The People Mover carried its last passengers on Wednesday, February 6, 2019. [10]
