Eldora Mountain Resort is a ski area in the western United States, located in the southwest corner of Boulder County, Colorado, near the unincorporated community of Eldora and three miles (5 km) west of Nederland.
Vail is a home rule municipality in Eagle County, Colorado, United States.The population of the town was 4,835 in 2020. [2] Home to Vail Ski Resort, the largest ski mountain in Colorado, the town is known for its hotels, dining, and for the numerous events the city hosts annually, such as the Vail Film Festival, Vail Resorts Snow Days, and Bravo!
In 2018 Winter Park Resort was named "Best ski resort in North America" as voted by the readers of USA Today. [13] In 2019 Winter Park Resort was named "Number 1 Ski Resort in North America". [14] Winter Park hosted the NCAA Skiing Championships in 1956, 1959, 1972, and 1977. The team title went to Denver in 1956 and Colorado took the latter three.
Vail Resorts was founded as Vail Associates Ltd. by Pete Seibert and Earl Eaton in the early 1960s. Eaton, a lifelong resident, led Siebert (a former WWII 10th Mountain Division ski trooper) to the area in March 1957.
