Covington is a city in and the parish seat of St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, United States. [2] The population was 11,564 at the 2020 United States census. The creation of US 190 Business stems from the building of the bypass around Covington. The first half of the bypass, which ran north to south, was constructed in the mid-to-late 1950's to move Louisiana Highway 25 out of downtown Covington.
