The route takes in many of London's major attractions; Lea Valley Walk which starts outside Greater London but has around 12.5 miles (20 km) within its boundary. The route follows the River Lea and the Lee Navigation; London Outer Orbital Path ("Loop") a 150-mile (240 km) circular route with 24 sections mostly through Outer London suburbs.
