The district contains part of Virginia Beach. Since 2016, the seat has been held by Republican Jason Miyares who was elected as Attorney General of Virginia in the 2021 election. [1]
The 2nd district is based in Hampton Roads, containing the cities of Chesapeake, Franklin, Suffolk, and Virginia Beach. Virginia's Eastern Shore is also located within the district. The incumbent is Republican Jen Kiggans, who flipped the district and was elected to a first term with 52% of the vote in 2022.
