Sherrills Ford is an unincorporated community and former census-designated place (CDP) in Catawba County, North Carolina, United States. Since the 2010 census, it has been included within the Lake Norman of Catawba CDP. It is part of the Hickory-Lenoir-Morganton Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Catawba is located on the northeastern border of Catawba County. Its northeastern boundary is the shore of the Catawba River in Lake Norman.. North Carolina Highway 10 passes through the center of the town, leading north 2.5 miles (4.0 km) to Exit 138 on Interstate 40 and southwest 10 miles (16 km) to Newton.
Long View is located in western Catawba County and eastern Burke County. It is bordered to the north and east by the city of Hickory, to the west by the town of Hildebran, and to the south by the census-designated place of Mountain View. U.S. Route 70 passes through Long View, leading east into Hickory and west 18 miles (29 km) to Morganton.
