The Gilbert Historical Society & Museum is located within the original Gilbert Elementary School built in 1913 in the southern end of the Gilbert Heritage District at the southwest corner of Gilbert Rd. and Elliot Rd. The Gilbert Historical Society was established in 1960. The goal of the society is to "Preserve the Past for the Future." [7]

The House of Refuge at Gilbert's Bar, also known as Gilbert's Bar House of Refuge, the House of Refuge Museum, or simply the House of Refuge, is a historic building located at 301 S.E. MacArthur Boulevard, on Hutchinson Island east of Stuart, Florida. It is the oldest surviving building in Martin County.
Arthur Gilbert began collecting these items in the 1960s, many of which had significant gaps in their provenance history. [2] The project aimed to ascertain if Gilbert had unknowingly acquired objects confiscated or extorted by the Nazis from their victims during the period of 1933-45 and not restituted post-World War II.

AzMNH exhibitions are funded mostly by private donations to the Arizona Museum of Natural History Foundation, the Museum's 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The museum also maintains the Sirrine House, a Queen Anne style home built in Mesa in 1896. The museum says that the home is the only fully restored Victorian-era home museum.
