Twelve countries competed in the tournament. India won their 3rd World Cup by defeating Iran 38–29 in the final.

[citation needed] The Punjab government organised a Circle Style 2010 Kabaddi World Cup from 3 to 12 April 2010. On 12 April 2010 Indian team emerged as the winner after beating Pakistan in the finals.
