Aiko initially garnered attention as the purported cousin of Lil' Fizz, a rapper from the American R&B group B2K, though they are not related. [1] [2] This connection was used as a marketing strategy by her labels Sony, TUG and Epic to promote her through B2K and attract an audience.
Aiko would initially start the process with lyrics in her head, before meeting long time collaborators and producers Fisticuffs or her keyboard player.
