They also work great on 45cal muzzle loaders almost identical ballistics with 450 bushmaster using 275 grain aerotips with 3 777pellets.

450 Bushmaster zero advice. Ive got an AR 450 (16" barrel) with a Vortex Strike Eagle BDC scope. I shoot Hornady ammo. I hunt farms fields so my longest shot would be 200yds; the usual shot is 100yds or less. So, where should I set my zero? Im thinking set it at 50yds and use the reticle markings for the longer shots.
Shooting Hornady black out of a AR 450 Bushmaster with a 20" barrel. Zero'd it at 100 yards. Also shot it at 50 yards. Groups are great at either distance. For some reason it shoots 6" high at 50 yards. If I'm reading these trajectory charts right it should only be a 1/3" high.
I have shot 4 deer with the460 rifle, same bullet as 450, and seen half dozen others shot with different bullets. Had trouble with hornady 250 ftx staying together with poor blood trail, tried both 200 and 275 Barnes. Good on deer but, accuracy faltered as shallow grooves loaded with copper. It seemed worse with hot ridding the load.
Hornady already loads a .458" 250 grain MonoFlex copper alloy bullet for the .45-70 LeveRevolution Ammo. They offer a .452" 250 grain MonoFlex copper alloy bullet and sabot as a .50 caliber muzzleloader offering, but that same bullet could easily be loaded into .450 Bushmaster Ammo.

Said that wasn’t the case a couple of months ago and if you buy from a retailer that has older black ammo it could make a difference.
The .452 250 Xtp is another great deer bullet at 2000 fps but rarely passes through at these velocities. The .452 300 xtp will pass through almost every time on deer. Interlock soft point is a great choice for lighter low SD bullets like the short shanked 250gr .452 xtp and limits/delays the expansion enough to pass through.
