I don't think that would work, what happened to me is I bought Minecraft, if I go into the installations tab in the launcher I can play, but when i go into the skins tab it says i do not have Minecraft. when I click the link, it just shows the Minecraft download page, saying, "download Minecraft if you haven't already" meaning I already payed, which I did and bought it.

I have been able to download Bedrock Edition, but in the minecraft launcher the Java Edition still says "Buy Now". It was purchased as a bundle of both editions.

Every time I try to download the Minecraft Launcher, it tells me it can't communicate to the Microsoft Store. The store also won't let me download Java Edition at all. It pretends like it's going to, then just stops. But I can download Bedrock no problem. Why is your store doing everything in it's power to keep me off Java edition?
Just a friendly reminder that the promotion is you'll get Minecraft Java Edition if you have a Minecraft Bedrock for PC (and vice versa) which is a different license from what we have on our Xbox console.
