Resurrection Catholic Secondary School offers a University Cooperative Education Program (UCEP), where students in either grade 12 or 13 spend their first semester at the University of Waterloo, Wilfrid Laurier University or St. Jerome's University. The student is then able to gain a co-op position with a professor on any of these campuses.

As the population shifted from the city to the suburbs the enrollment in the school started to decline. In 2006 there were only 110 students enrolled at St. Peter's. The archdiocese consolidated the parochial schools in eastern Wyandotte County into Resurrection Catholic School in 2007 using the St. Peter's School building.

La Grange was founded in 1827 when the Oldham County seat was relocated from Westport at the suggestion of Major William Berry Taylor. The new town was named for Château de la Grange-Bléneau, the French country estate of Gilbert du Motier, the American Revolutionary hero better known as the Marquis de Lafayette, who had visited the area in 1824.
