University Ridge was designed to be the home course of the men's and women's golf teams for the University of Wisconsin. Southwest of campus, the course was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. and opened in 1991. In 1994, it also became home to both the boys' and girls' WIAA state golf championships for all divisions.
The course is located in Falcon Heights, Minnesota on the St. Paul Campus of the University. The school's cross country teams use it to hold meets, including the Roy Griak Invitational. [2] The school's golf teams now hold matches off campus in Blaine, Minnesota at the TPC Twin Cities (Tournament Players Club of the Twin Cities).
Quaker Ridge also hosted the Curtis Cup in 2018. In 1969, Jimmy Demaret stated, "Quaker Ridge is the most underrated golf course in the New York area, because it has never been host course to a major championship. I'd like to go on record as saying it would be a tough test of golf for any tournament – the U.S. Open and the PGA included."
