Muhammad bin Fahd Al Saud (Arabic: محمد بن فهد آل سعود Muḥammad bin Fahd Āl Suʿūd; 4 January 1950 – 28 January 2025) [1] was a Saudi prince, politician, and philanthropist who served as governor of the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia from 1985 to 2013. [2]

After the murder of King Faisal in 1975 and the accession of King Khalid, Fahd was named first deputy prime minister and concurrently crown prince.
Faisal bin Fahd was born in 1945 [1] as the eldest son of King Fahd. [2] His mother, Al Anoud bint Abdulaziz bin Musaid, was from the Al Jiluwi branch of the Al Saud whose members intermarried with the members of the House of Saud. [1] [3] She was the younger sister of one of Prince Sultan's spouses.
Prince Sultan became the leader of the group after King Fahd's demise. [23] On 28 October 2011, Prince Nayef became the Crown Prince after the death of Prince Sultan, and his other full brother Prince Salman, who had been a long-term Riyadh governor, was appointed the minister of defence.

Crown Prince Fahd made Bandar an emissary to Carter and granted him permission to act independently of the Saudi-U.S. ambassador. [3] In 1982, King Fahd made him the military attache at the Saudi Embassy, a move which could have ended his diplomatic career. However, in 1983, Fahd appointed Bandar as Saudi Ambassador to the United States. [3]
Assets purchased by StratREAL on behalf of Prince Abdulaziz bin Fahd included Fifth Street Towers, a Minneapolis office complex, for $294 million in 2007. [17] In May 2012, following a foreclosure on the complex for mortgage default, Fifth Street Towers was sold at a sheriff's auction for $1 over the outstanding debt of $110 million.
