The earliest predecessor of the school was the Wuhan Textile Technology College, which was founded in 1958 and was affiliated to the then Ministry of Textile Industry of China. In 1998, the school was placed under the management of the Hubei Provincial People's Government. In 2010, the school was renamed Wuhan Textile University. [3] [4]
