Wine on Tap is a distribution method for wine.Instead of pouring from a bottle, wine is packaged in stainless steel kegs or disposable plastic kegs. After the barreling stage, the wine is transferred into the kegs holding about 26 bottles of wine each (or 130 glasses) depending on the size of the keg (19.5 liters).
The coupling fitting has one or two valves that control the flow of beer out of and gas into the keg. The keg must be in the upright position, that is, with the opening on top, for the beer to be dispensed. Kegs can be contrasted to casks, which have two or more openings and no spear. [3] Most major breweries now use internally speared kegs.
A keg has a single opening in the centre of the top to which a flow pipe is attached. Kegs are artificially pressurised after fermentation with carbon dioxide or a mixture of carbon dioxide and nitrogen gas or especially in Czech Republic solely compressed air.
Beer served from a tap is largely known as draught beer, though beer served from a cask is more commonly called cask ale, while beer from a keg may specifically be called keg beer. Beer taps can be also used to serve similar drinks like cider or long drinks. There are many different types and styles of beer or keg taps. [2] [3]
