Dec 2020. Build Challenge: Swarmkeeper Ranger/ Spores Druid Multiclass. I randomly stumbled across this idea a couple of days ago and have not been able to get it out of my head. It seems, to me, to be the best way to take advantage of the d6 melee damage bonus Spores druid gives you, while giving you an additional d6 damage with your swarm.

The fun really begins for a Spore Druid at level 6, when you get "Fungal Infestation". This allows you to create free Spore Zombies as a reaction (making using Halo of Spores a waste of a reaction). So if you, or a party member, kills a beast or humanoid of Medium size or smaller, you can instantly bring it back as a zombie under your control.

Unfortunately, both classes are rather dependent on class levels for their function: Monk needs class levels for ki and to reach the big jump at levels 5 and 6 (Extra Attack, Stunning Strike, Martial Arts d6, then the poison aura and Ki-Empowered Strikes), while Spores needs class levels to ...
Forum Rules. I'll keep this simple and just say that the current Circle of Spores write up is disappointing with several mechanics needing an overhaul. Thus the purpose of this revision is to correct some of the abilities while also modifying other to enhance the more martial aspects the subclass tries to bring out. Any feed back is welcomed!
The Shepherd Circle improve its summoning, the Land Circle improves its general spellcasting, and the Dream Circle provides decent healing and some utility. Circle of Spores / Death Domain multiclass. Heya. So i was considering making a character with the release of Ravnica that focuses on the Circle of Spores subclass while incorporating worship of a death god Talona. I was going for a real "Swamp witch" vibe, a crippled cantankerous crone who wanders the swamplands trading in fingernails and hair.

If you're in a setting that effectively counters the entire mechanical damage concept of the spore druid, perhaps talk with the DM and change the type of damage. For example, create a mini-homebrew a Blizzard Druid, which is 99.9% Spore druid, but with the "Spores" replaced with "Snowflake" and "Poison Damage" replaced with "cold damage".
I wanted to analysis the DPR of the Circle of Spores Druid, so I came up with a rough calculation. I assume that the Druid's ability always hit but never crit, a Wisdom of 18, & Shillelagh pre-casted.
