The Bannock War of 1878 was an armed conflict between the U.S. military and Bannock and Paiute warriors in Idaho and northeastern Oregon from June to August 1878. The Bannock totaled about 600 to 800 in 1870 because of other Shoshone peoples being included with Bannock numbers. [ 1 ]
The Fannin Battleground State Historic Site commemorates the Battle of Coleto Creek, a battle of the Texas Revolution, fought on March 19 and 20, 1836 between Texian forces commanded by Col. James W. Fannin and the Mexican Army commanded by Mexican General Jose de Urrea. Eventually surrounded and outnumbered, Fannin surrendered to the Mexican Army.
The money was used to purchase an additional 336 acres of land at San Jacinto. The state appropriated another $25,000 in 1907 for improvements at the battleground and officially named it San Jacinto State Park, the first official state park in Texas. A governor appointed local commission managed the park and reported to the State Board of Control.
McKinney Falls State Park welcomed just under 310,000 visitors in 2023. The park is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Adult entrance fees are $6 per day, and children under 12 get in free.
In 1933, the City of Eagle Pass Parks and Recreation Department began maintaining the old fort as a public park. [3]: 118 The city formally acquired the property in 1938 at an auction price of $3760 [3]: 119 and converted it into Fort Duncan Park. In 1942 the mayor offered the fort to the military for use during World War II.

Monument Hill and Kreische Brewery State Historic Sites are two state historic sites managed by the Texas Historical Commission. They are located at 29.888° -96.876°, just off U.S. Route 77, south of La Grange, Texas. The sites sit on a sandstone bluff 200 feet above the Colorado River.
