Patterson Park was established in 1827 and named for William Patterson (1752–1835). The park consists of open fields of grass, large trees, paved walkways, historic battle sites, a lake, playgrounds, athletic fields, a swimming pool, an ice skating rink and other signature attractions and buildings. The park rescheduled the centennial event to coincide with the annual "Fort Rosecrans Goes to War," a tribute to San Diego and World War II, on December 7–8, 2013. [20] Some of the other planned centennial events took place in 2014.

The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park is an open-air music venue in San Diego, California. It first opened in 2021, and is operated by the San Diego Symphony on the grounds of Embarcadero Marina Park South, which the symphony leases from the Port of San Diego. [1] The site is located on San Diego Bay in the Marina district of downtown San Diego.
Colonel Allensworth State Historic Park was established on 240 acres (97 ha) in 1976. Ed Pope returned to the area in his retirement "to become a preservation activist on the scene." [citation needed] The 100th anniversary of Allensworth was celebrated in October 2008. Events are held throughout the year to commemorate the park's history. [13]
