The Memorial to the German Resistance is located in the buildings to the left of the photo. The museum consists of a series of displays chronicling the history of Nazi Germany and of all those individuals and groups who opposed the single party state of the era and its ideology, for whatever reason. All resisters are given equal respect.

South Side Turnverein Hall is a historic social club and gymnasium in the Bates-Hendricks neighborhood of Indianapolis, Indiana, affiliated with the city's German-American community. lt was built in 1900 by prominent architects Vonnegut & Bohn, whose managing partners Bernard Vonnegut, Sr. and Arthur Bohn were members of the burgeoning German-American community in Indianapolis.
Indianapolis's cultural district program was established as an economic development initiative of the Bart Peterson administration to promote public art and market the city as a cultural destination.
