Malaysian Public Service Department (JPA) since 2000 has implemented a new program known as Yang di-Pertuan Agong Scholarship (Malay: Biasiswa Yang di-Pertuan Agong) in accordance with the decision of the Honorable Prime Minister on 3 November 2004 and received the approval of the Council of Rulers Meeting on 16 March 2005.

The Tunku Abdul Rahman Foundation (Malay: Yayasan Tunku Abdul Rahman) is a non-profit public foundation incorporated by an Act of Parliament in 1966. The primary aim of the foundation is to recognise and encourage the development of youths who show excellence in both academic and extra-curricular pursuits through the provision of scholarships for higher education.
The foundation (Malay: Yayasan Tunku Abdul Rahman) is named after the first Prime Minister of Malaysia and founder of the foundation, Tunku Abdul Rahman. It provides scholarships for students to pursue a higher education. Students who are awarded the scholarships are known as Tunku Scholars. [4]
