The series, a follow-up to the movie Tamagotchi: Happiest Story in the Universe!, is the third Tamagotchi anime produced since Saa Ikou! Tamagotchi . After the series' airing, it has gained three anime sequels, two manga adaptations and ten light novel adaptations by Kadokawa Shoten .
