Spencer Speedway is a 0.5-mile (0.80 km) flat asphalt oval located in Williamson, New York. The track was built by brothers Del, Walt and Merele Spencer, and opened in August 1955. [ 1 ] It was purchased by John White in 2005, who also owned the Chemung Speedrome .

The village of Spencer is located in central Spencer Township. The Spencer Lake Wildlife Area is a 618-acre public hunting and fishing park featuring wetlands and a dog training area surrounding an artificial lake constructed in 1961, and rebuilt and enlarged in 1986. [3] The park lies two miles east of the village of Spencer.
As of the census [8] of 2010, there were 753 people, 283 households, and 203 families living in the village. The population density was 760.6 inhabitants per square mile (293.7/km 2).
