The SpaceX reusable rocket technology is being developed for Falcon 9 v1.2, Falcon Heavy and Starship. SpaceX attempted to land the first stage of the Falcon 1 by parachute, but the stage did not survive atmosphere re-entry. They continued to experiment unsuccessfully with parachutes on the earliest Falcon 9 flights after 2010.
Block 3 and Block 4 are found in this list while the active Block 5 is listed separately. Block 4 was a test version that included new hardware such as titanium grid fins later carried over to the current Block 5. Flights of all Falcon 9 rockets up to Block 4 were limited to 2 flights only, with a total of 14 second flights of these variants.
SpaceX is also developing the fully reusable Starship launch system. [42] Blue Origin is developing its own New Glenn partially reusable orbital rocket, as it is intending to recover and reuse only the first stage. 5 October 2020, Roscosmos signed a development contract for Amur a new launcher with a reusable first stage. [43]
The 30-foot-wide Super Heavy first stage, loaded with 6.8 million pounds of liquid oxygen and methane propellants, stands 230 feet tall and is powered by 33 SpaceX-designed Raptor engines ...
The Falcon 5 was a proposed two-stage-to-orbit partially reusable launch vehicle designed by SpaceX. [ 46 ] The first stage of Falcon 5 was to be powered by five Merlin engines , and the upper stage by one Merlin engine, both burning RP-1 with a liquid oxygen oxidizer.

The third version of the Falcon 9 was developed in 2014–2015 and made its maiden flight in December 2015. The Falcon 9 Full Thrust is a modified reusable variant of the Falcon 9 family with capabilities that exceed the Falcon 9 v1.1, including the ability to "land the first stage for geostationary transfer orbit (GTO) missions on the drone ship" [14] [15] The rocket was designed using ...
