D-Day is the debut studio album by South Korean rapper Agust D, also known as Suga of BTS. It was released on April 21, 2023, through Big Hit Music , as the third installment in a trilogy of works that includes the mixtapes Agust D (2016) and D-2 (2020).
In April 2023, Suga released his debut solo studio album D-Day as Agust D. A Disney+ documentary, titled Suga: Road to D-Day, chronicling the project's creation and following the rapper on a music road trip across different countries, premiered the same day as the album. According to Billboard, Agust D thought the name "Agust D 2" was not satisfying enough for the album. Instead of releasing the mixtape on "D-Day" or "D-0", the artist wanted to undermine expectations and release it a few days before, inspiring him to combine "Agust D-2" and the second to last day of the countdown "D-2" into the name of the mixtape.
Min Yoon-gi (Korean: 민윤기; born March 9, 1993), better known by his stage names, Suga and Agust D, is a South Korean rapper. Managed by Big Hit Music , he has been a member of South Korean boy band BTS since 2013, but worked as a producer prior to joining the group. [ 1 ]
