Edmonton International Raceway is a 0.250 mi (0.402 km), paved oval auto racing facility, [1] located outside Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada, approximately 50 kilometres (31 mi) south of Edmonton. The track is the first in Alberta to be sanctioned by NASCAR, [ 2 ] and hosts races in the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series .

The thunderous Can-Am series raced in Edmonton from 1968-1973, where the race was known as the Klondike 200, and the primary sponsor was Molson Brewery. Denny Hulme won all four races from 1968 to 1971, while Mark Donohue won the 1972 and 1973 races driving a Porsche 917 for Roger Penske .
For 2011 and 2012, there was no title sponsor, with the race known simply as the Edmonton Indy.
